Afantitis Antreas PhD, MBA: Received his B.Sc (2003), M.Sc (2004) and PhD (2006) in Chemical Engineering, Process Design & Systems, Computational Mechanics and Computational & Organic Chemistry respectively from the School of Chemical Engineering (NTUA). Later he has pursued management studies towards an MBA (2007) from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (NTUA).

He is the founder and director of NovaMechanics Ltd, being responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, growth and financial control. He has a strong scientific background in the field of chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, nanoinformatics, modelling, simulation and medicinal & materials chemistry. His scientific work has been published in over 50 original research articles (he is the corresponding author in 20 of them) in international peer reviewed journals (including 4 Editorials) (http://www.afantitis.com/Publications.php). He has been included in the most productive authors in the field of Chemoinformatics (bibliometric analysis performed by Prof. Peter Willet) and according to Google Scholar his h-index is 25. His research has been highlighted several times in the literature (http://www.afantitis.com/Highlights.php) in terms of Top Hottest Articles, Most Cited Articles, Recent Success Stories etc. He is a reviewer in leading scientific journals (more than 40), member of Editorial Boards (more than 4) and an evaluator of international competitive grants. He is the Section Editor for Combinatorial/ Medicinal Chemistry Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening and currently he is a Guest Editor of Food Chemical Toxicology (Impact Factor 3.78). 

He successfully coordinated applied drug discovery projects and based on the results 3 patents were filled. He has successfully led the efforts to the development and the implementation of state of the art information technology systems (database, web services, custom made scientific software development) in NovaMechanics Ltd for solving Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Nanoinformatics, Modelling, Simulation and Big Data analysis problems. He has supervised all the R&D activities and the product development of NovaMechanics (Enalos+ KNIME nodes, Enalos Cloud Platform, Enalos Suite etc). As a Director at NovaMechanics Ltd, he has led several efforts for the development of computational infrastructures of scientific and technological excellence at a national and European level that have contributed decisively to the support of new scientists. At NovaMechanics he has supervised a multidisciplinary team of Post-Doctoral and Phd Scientists.

 He participates as a PI with NovaMechanics in 12 Research Projects.  3 FP7 Projects (related to Systems Biology, Nanoninformatics, Personalized Medicine), 1 H2020 (Nanosafety), 1 EraSysApp (Systems Biology – Drug Discovery of antiviral Drugs), 2 Cost Actions (related to Drug Discovery of Inhibitors of Angiogenesis), 1 Eureka (Materials Science in collaboration with Saab, Ericson etc) and 4 Projects funded by RPF (drug discovery of Alzheimer's inhibitors, agents for the treatment of thalassaemia, Rheumatoid Arthritis Inhibitors and Computational Toxicology.
